[V6-12v] AC question

Thanks guys,
No. It's definitely the AC compressor. I've open the hood several times to
see what's going on and I clearly see the compressor clutch engaging.
I'm in just outside of Toronto, Canada. Today was 7 degrees centigrade in
the morning. I start the engine open the hood and I see the compressor
kicking in and out with the air and recirculation buttons off. As James
Whitehouse pointed out, his mechanic feels it's by design. I'm starting to
think he's right. But it's a lousy design. My 1993 S4 does not do that.
If anybody know how to turn it off please let me know.
