The method of loosening the belt and "hoping nothing moves " when you take
the belt off is way to scary for me . If your gonna do that I would
definitely "paint the teeth " and belt. Take one or two teeth on each pulley
and paint the tooth on the belt and the corresponding tooth on the pulley.
Take the belt off and paint those marks on the new belt so they are the same
as the old belt. You are basically "teeth counting ". put the new belt on so
the paint marks line up again , tension belt.
Personaly I used the proper tools. But I would definitely use this method as
a back up if I didn't have them !
