Procedure 2 worked for me on my '94 100 S Avant. "Viggle"
is an interesting term -- you do have to twist, turn, rotate,
slide, dip, pull, and otherwise work the IC out of it's hole.
It's not that bad; the hard part for me was reaching behind
to unplug the various wiring connectors (there's like 6 or 7
individual connections) so I could work the IC out. Also, you
want to be careful you don't scratch the plastic face of the
IC as you work it out of its hole.
And as difficult as it was unplugging the connectors, plugging
them back in blindly was even more difficult. Difficult, but
do-able.
