[V6-12v] Car not starting

The theory, the fuel cap has a spring mechanism designed to permit it
to breathe in under vacuum (but not out) to permit air into the tank to
replace the fuel that is being consumed. If that valve in the gas cap
goes bad, vacuum can build up in the gas tank as the fuel level drops,
offsetting the power of the pump to move the fuel forward. This is the
case for all cars built tp US-specs since 1974 (as well as motorcycles
for the California market since 1980 or so).
