Although the 12v is a good reliable work horse, it's not tweak friendly.

For any one interested, I did do one tweak that did provide me with 
noticible improvment above 4500 rpm.  This was getting rid of the 
horn/tube from the air box and fitting plastic to fit the enlarged hole 
(I enlaged it ) behind the light.

With the small diameter of the horn the engine did not pool very well in 
the high rpms now it pools with the same force from mid rpm right to red 
line.

One small question is left in my mind, and that is: if the horn was the 
first obsticle in all the tests that others did with the K & N than it 
did not matter what kind of filter was used as the horn was limiting the 
air intake.....
