[V6-12v] Re: V6 serpentine belt

Just so you guys know there was a change in the serpantine belt design
around 95. It is fully backward compatible with earlier yearsI believ so any
car could have either system. Also keep in mind there are different belt
sizes. I know this because I got the wrong one. In the later design a pulley
was removed and a new style tensioner with a shorter belt was used. I have
pictures of both configs but am not sure if I can attatch pictures on this
system.
    I did this last year and honestly don't remember if this was a fixed
tension or constant tension system. It may be that once you set the tension
you tighten up a bolt to "fix " it at that tension ..don't remeber.. hey
wait a minute ,, check the manual .. now theres an idea....
