I "looked" into it (asked the list).  The potential problem
(no hard evidence) is that *if* the t-belt pulley is like the
one on the I5 turbo, it has a lip at the edge which would
preclude cutting the belt in half lengthwise and slipping off
half of it while leaving the other half to hold the pulleys in
place (I assume that's what you meant when you said "Miata").

IIRC, the early (sorry, but that would be your '93) V6s had
leakage problems with the V valley gasket, which may manifest
itself as a leak to the rear.
