Ok so why cant I charge on the low side with the low pressure switch removed
and go through that Schrader valve? I could just short the switch to
indicate pressure which should allow the compressor to run.
I am really opposed to going to a dealer for my AC. If they wanted 90$ just
to give me radio codes, I shudder to think of what they would charge to
recharge the ac.
Audi makes excellent cars, but sometimes their engineers don't live in the
real world..

nope, just a high side fitting, you need a full a/c machine to do it and
charge threw the high side, you cannot get and should not make adapters to
charge from the high side with a can of freon, when running, the high side
can be up to 300lbs of pressure, and will make the can a grenade. that would
be bad !! that is why all the can adapters you see in your local stores are
low side only !!

Alright not much info seems to be easily found on the internet about this so
I'll ask some direct questions.
Is there a low pressure side quick connect port for 134a on the 95 A6Q? I
have found the low pressure switch that is threaded onto a Schrader valve on
the right side of the plenum at the firewall, but that's not quick connect.
Is there a suction side quick connect? Or am I just going to have to take
the car to a shop to have the AC charged? Its cycling the compressor so its
down some Freon, but its not fully empty. I would much rather spend the
12-14 on a can of Freon and a few bucks on an adaptor than the 75$ plus it
will cost at a shop.
Any btdt on this with you guys?
Thanks!
Rob
