[V6-12v] OBDII Tools

Hello,

	What's a good software package for the weekend automotive DIY'er?
Looking for software package to read and reset codes on my '96 A4. I got
laptops, PDAs, can make my own cables. I see there's lots out there, but
don't wanna waste my $$ on crap.. Any input much appreciated!
