Latest experience has been with the wife's 95 A6Q catalytic converter replacement. The cats were falling apart and we just had them done at a local meineke shop. They had a unit that matched up perfectly and cost quite a bit less than what Audi quotes. Now there is a difference in the construction, the Audi units are double walled coming from the header to the cat and the down pipe and converter are constructed as one piece. The replacement piece was just the catalytic converter. So far as the resonators and mufflers are concerned I've had that done on earlier Audi's and I've had good success getting units from Summit parts catalog and having them installed locally. You just have to be careful in matching up the dimensions on the units so that they fit where the current units are. The critical point I feel is finding a shop that does good exhaust work.
