[V6-12v] Trunk lid light switch

Folks,

Do you have any idea where the trunk lid light switch might be located
and if it is salvagable when broken?

The deal on mine is that when the trunk lid is open, the light is off.
As I close the lid, the light will turn on at some intermediate point
between open and closed. This is a rather useless feature... I assume
the switch is in the lid, but I would like to know what kind of switch
it is and if anyone has had any luck cleaning it out or otherwise
repairing it.
