i should have read Toms post more closely ... The sleeve looking think down stream of the cats with two clamps holding it on is the dustment for the exhaust, after figuring this out it ws a LOT easier, I had to cut one of the clamps off but no dig deal . I had a spare anyway .. I am not sure if I got the donut in right but It looks okay .. honestly I don't know how to tell if its leaking .. I think I found my problem with the popping on deceleration also . This is normally due to fuel getting dumped into the exhaust on rapid deceleration . normally not a problem in the absence of oxygen. In all my meesing around tyhe test cap fell right of . looks like it had been leaking for ages .. so now I need a metric cap but no big deal . If I can't find one I will have it welded over..
It sounded good on my test start but I am going to leave it until I get my cap .. The other side I cannot do until I get an opinion on the flange that is toast.. I am thinking of cutting off the test port undoing it from the exhast and putting on a new flange if I can get one. Alternatly I may order the whole new piece from Audi now that I know it disconects. It would be quite expensive I am sure ..
