More on the IC,

As I stated in the previous post - the auto check on my new IC doesn't't
work - I figured I need some of the functions of this unit - mainly oil
pressure, and coolant level.  I wired in two led's with some resistors to
the signal wires related to these two sensors, then I placed them in two
of the four squares above the trans indicator - hides well and works
great.  I too found a pinhole leak by knowing that my coolant level was
low.  I would have liked to have a light for the wear sensors on the brake
pads but that would have required a relay because those wires are normally
powered, and I don't like things to light up unless something is wrong. 
Anyway, I think that Ingo posted something about the oil light coming on
and the oil guage dropping - You may want to look somewhere other than the
IC first for this reason: Each warning has it's own separate sensor, wire
and circuit in the IC - If both the guage and the light are coming on you
may actually have a low pressure condition.
