[V8] 5 speed conversion!

Mike,

Somewhere in the back of my mind I think it says that the subframes are
different between the automatic and the manual, but I haven't confirmed
that.

What I have done is modified V8 01E transmission mounts to fit an
automatic V8 subframe so that I could install the subframe on a '91 200
and then INSTALL an 01E SIX SPEED, yes I suppose you could install an
01E five speed if you really wanted one! ;)

Sold the 200 and bought an S4 so the project is on perpetual hold.

Gents, I need a little info.  The slushbox is in the beginning of the
end.  I want to do a 5-speed conversion.  I have shopped a few tranny's,
from an 87 5000 TQ to a 96 S-6.  Which transmission is the most
compatible?  I believe they will both bolt up.  The V8 5-speed has an
oil pump and cooling system that operates from the front Diff.  What is
the best choice of 5 speed for this application?
