[V8] steak knife method

I just got done with a blower motor this weekend on a 1990 V8, and I must
say it was a ton easier than I had expected from the horor stories I had
heard. It was the same for the timing sensors, too (I did them about 6 mos
ago on this same car).
Anyhow, I would agree with Keith on the "steak knife method". It is not
necessary to cut the heater box in any way, unless someone's car is way
worse than the one I worked on this weekend. Some poeple mentioned cutting
the black duct on the passenger side (the thin (accordian 5" duct), and that
isn't a bad idea, although that was also unnecessary in his car. By the way,
against my recomendation, he bought one of those $70 motors without the fan,
and there is no way it could be made to fit. Also, the fan is not designed
to come off the motor. If you are going to do it, spend the $160 or so, and
do it right. It will probably be another 150k before it needs to be replaced
again.
Thanks to all those who gave me advice.
