A month or so ago the wife said the headlights didn't work in the car as 
she came home. She said she had to hold the brights on to get home.

Crap... So I called Kieth and Bruce to get a price and made plans to 
troubleshoot and replace the switch. A few days later I checked it out 
and the lights worked. Drove it  for several more days with no issue and 
started thinking...
1. The wife had never driven any of the Audis at night. I always do.
2. The last vehicle we owned was a Chevy Blazer - it had a sensor which 
turned the lights on when it got dark.

So I asked the wife how to turn the lights on the next time she was in 
the car. She didn't know!
She does now...
