[V8] Idling & Starting Problems

I suspect some listers have emailed you off list.  It is very very likely 
that this is caused by a failure of one of the two crank position sensors.  I 
cant remember which color one it is when the tach dies.  They tend to fail when 
hot, only to work again when cooled off.  You can often find them on ebay for 
around $135 or they can be had for a little more from a parts vendor.  They are 
both the same part so don't worry about getting the right one.  Anyone want 
to add more info....like which sensor it is?
