Well, no. But certainly one of the 160 or so BEST '93 V8's in the US is for
sale.
I have decided that it is time to sell my V8. There are a LOT of reasons to
keep the car. Here are some:
1. New Bridgestone tires in August
2. New, preservation grade paint and exterior restoration completed in
August.
3. Complete four wheel allignment with tire rod replacement in August.
4. Brakes redone, with new rotors and pads in Summer.
The car is now nearly 100%....as near as it can get at this point.
But the truth is that this is an "orphan" car. I need to be in my truck on
a daily basis, and my wife's car is a 100CS Avant, that she uses in her
business. We are starting a renovation here, and by the end of this month,
there will no longer be a garage for any car, until the new one is finished
late next year, so I will be seeking to store the V8 through the winter, if
it isn't sold before the weather turns foul here. It's really time for this
car to seek a new home, I think.
The specifics: Burgundy/tan....actually, that's not the term that Audi
called the color when it was new, but the car is original in color.
Just ready to roll over to 90,000 miles.
Bose sound system is inop, and needs to be
repaired/replaced. The CD changer works fine, but I have disconnected the
speakers. They might be covererd under the Audi
recall, but I am not interested in having the Bose system work at all. So,
it's for the new owner to play with.
Picks? Yes, of course. The rear headrests aren't the
best, and the right rear is separating.
The left front headlamp has just received
a "star"....damn! I HATE it when that happens.
Price? I dunno. I have it listed on the Audifans website for openers for a
LOT of money, wondering if someone would inquire or tell me I was full of
red ants.
But I am interested in selling the car to an enthusiast if possible, and so
I am approachable. I have a LOT of money into the car this past six months,
in terms of routine maintenance, as all work so far has been done by the
authorized dealer that I have gone to for years.
I am going to wash the car now, and will take some new digital pictures
today. If I get really fired up, I might list it on eBay for chuckles and
grins. I had it on exhibition at the Owl's Head Transportation Museum
auction in August, and it almost made the reserve then, and they felt that
had I listed the car early so that it could have been advertised as a part
of the auction advertising, the car would have gone for more than I was
asking.
So, if anyone reading this has any interest, email me and I'll send some
pictures. Then if you like, we can talk.
Roger
