Wow, memory lane, also a former Midget owner, remember tuning the twin SU
carbs, with a plastic tube in my ear, listening to the pitch of each carb,
setting each, then locking the linkage down.  That little 1275cc motor ran
like a scared rabbit................never gave me a lick of
trouble................wish I could say the same for the rest of the car,
"Lukas, the Price of Darkness"

Sounds like the time my MG Midget's accelerator cable broke on a Sunday
afternoon in the boonies of western maryland. It was all frayed inside so I
set it to accelerate a certain amount (45mph up hills 60mph down hills) and
took the highways home. The traffic lights near home were fun, I'd just
start it in gear and shift VERY quickly without clutching. I also drank 8
cans of Mello Yello and could hardly stand up when I got home. What a car.

My 1977 Corvette busted a throttle cable and all I had was a camera strap in
the car.  I popped the hood and tied the strap to the accellerator and held
it in my hand out the window.  I drove it home 25 miles. (the 4 speed manual
made it very interesting.
