The classic bomb test is to turn off the ignition and pump the brake pedal
until the feel becomes hard. If it's hard from the outset your bomb is
shot. If it gives you 10-12 pumps before getting stiff, it's on its way
out. New bombs are supposed to give upwards of two dozen pumps. I've not
replaced a V8 bomb yet, but it looks like it would be about the easiest one
to work on of any of the cars with them. You want a PITA bomb? Try the
200q20v.
