Make sure the trans shifts well. Ask when the belt was done last - if
they don't know, ask them to call the previous owner and ask. It takes
special tools ($400.00 worth) and most of a day, plus $300-400.00 in
parts (discounted) - its worth finding out! (1200-1700.00 at the dealer)
Ask what they put in the hydraulic reservoir (it better be green!). Look
at the level in the hyd reservoir - if not 1/2 full or better (or way
full), look for leaks. Get under the car and look for grunge/stickyness
on the H-pipe and trans/engine area - prime indication of a leaking
steering rack. Tell them NOT to warm up the car before you get there.
Start the car cold and watch for oil burning off. Feel for warped disks
when braking. It takes me about 30 minutes and a straight
screwdriver/allen set to go over one of these enough to feel comfortable
about the condition. See if they'll let you have it for a day and spend
the bucks to have your tech look it over.

If you have questions feel free to call me - we've had 4 in the family
(90/90/91/92) and still have 2 (over 5 years)... 407 359 8333
