The '92 is back in action with a 'new to it' alternator. Them S6 seats
sure are nice!
I have the feeling the tornado '90 is due for wheel bearing(s) in the
front. I have a low grade growl that increases w/speed. Above 90 it gets
downright 'howly'. A turn to the right (ever so slightly even, like an
inch plus on the wheel) dramatically increases the noise, along with
increased vibration - any speed above say 25. Turn to the left, hardly
any difference.
Figured it was tires, pulled the driver's front off to rotate back and
found an inside bubble. Aha! I thought. Put on a standard size Piroegi
(Pirelli) in its place in reasonable shape - same noise/symptoms over
the 250 mile trip today. The passenger side front is fairly new with no
feathering.
Since I was planning on dropping the struts to oval the mounting points
and replace the 'snapping turtle' strut bearings, might as well get new
bearings pressed in too and go the whole way. Timing belt at the same
time (since its now at 78K in 3 years). Plan is to get the lago car on
its feet and park the red one for a few yea - err, months...
Dave.
