[V8] the tire pressure thingie

Ok guys, this scared the crap out of me.  The neat $4 air pressure measuring thing that I got from Wal-mart is off, slightly.  I had my tires up to 42 psi because I was expecting some loss while it was sitting.  Ha.  The guy at the alignment shop told me today that his gauge measured 55.  Crap.  I went 70+ on curvy roads the other night in the rain.  I wondered why it felt so silly.  Anyway, my question is: who makes a certified pressure tester?  Where could I get one?
