[V8] Rear caliper sticky problem

I just had this happen to my car today.  I pulled the wheel and was able to 
coax the caliper back into life.  I did a little research and it seems that the 
problem is often that the e brake cam located on/in the caliper gets a little 
rusty and seizes.  I didn't have the time to do it today but I read that 
penetrating lube and some cleaning often remedies the problem.  Can anyone give 
any BTDTs on this topic?  Thanks.
