Dave,

I'll try and answer some of your ?'s...

1.  I think page D2-80 tells the list of what's on each channel for a PT and 
D2-210 for an ABH.  For the PT they are:

  1 - engine temp
  2 - engine load
  3 - engine speed
  4 - idle air control valve
  5 - " zero point
  6 - " load adjustment
  7 - " calibration curve
  8 - o2 sensor
  9 - o2 sensor adaptation
  10 - timing

2.  My PT ECU supports basic settings.  IIRC, when you go to the basic 
settings screen, press Q, then it will work.  Why it's that way, I dunno.   
You can also vag-scope these.

3.  Can't answer, can't remember if I've tried or not on the V8.

4.  I get that every now and then on my car, but not every time.  I'm not 
worried about it, but that doesn't mean it's supposed to be there.   I don't 
know.
