[V8] oil leak

Check the ignition reference sensors and the inspection/drain holes at the 
bottom of the bell housing.  If they are soaked in oil then it is most likely 
the RMS.  My sensors were soaked in so much oil that I didn't even need to take 
them off to see (but I did anyway).  The oil covered most the area and my RMS 
leak was not that bad.  It is a good idea to put some cardboard under the car 
overnight.  The upper pan gasket will leak when the car is off but the RMS 
will not.  Hope it turns out to be a distributor O ring or something simple like 
that.
