[V8] Removing Transmission

Some bonehead on this list once swapped 2 of the plug wires installing
his new distributor; he experienced similar symptoms.

Finally got the starter and a few other bits I was waiting for into V8Q
#1.  After installing, the car came to life and idled rock steady (she's
been sitting for over a year.)  Drove to the gas station (didn't want to
go too far with an inspection sticker that expired a year ago) and she
took about 9 gallons of fresh gas.

Have a few problems which she didn't have before the flywheel problems
took her out of commission.

Surge-awful, at about 1700 RPM's at idle she starts surging with a
vengeance.  Almost as if the gas supply was being shut on and off.
Acceleration-excellent, except at the RPM range where she surges at
idle,
instead of surging while running, it's like hitting a slight flat spot.
Idle- low, way too low, idling at less 400 RPM in gear.  Idles at about
900 RPM in Neutral or Park

Car has two brand new reference sensors, new fuel pressure regulator and
O2 sensor.

Getting an inspection sticker tomorrow, followed by a good Italian tune
up, which I'm hoping will help.
