First of all, Happy and a Great 2004, with lots of enjoyment in driving our
Audi's!
Well guys, here's an update. I took the v8 to a dealer that was so
"friendly" to hook it up to their comp. for the nice sum of 70 euro...I hate
those buggers, but what can one do?
Its read out was: G40 Hall sensor and G4 Ignition reference sensor. Thats
all, no failures in my AT ECU thank God!
I imidiately ordered the G4 which arrived the next day. The dealer said that
most probably nothing was wrong with the Hall sensor...could that be
correct?
And further more, in my point of view it doesn't really make sense that the
G4 and G40 are gone, and the car still can run, although only up to 1700
rpm. As far as I know, either one of those failures would make it impossible
to start....Can anyone please enlighten me?
I haven't been able to renew the reference sensor yet, because at just that
day I got a vicious fleu (like most of us here in Holland at the moment),
and today is the first day that I finally found some energie to sit down at
the pc. Hopefully I'll be able to do something tomorrow, if the snow has
disappeared after the rain....yes yes, I have to work outside on my beloved
v8!!
A few more things that have kept my mind going....how fullproof is a comp
reading? I mean, could it be possible that the airmass unit is broken, and
would show up in the diagnoses? Or for that matter any other sensor....
And would a faulty fuelpressure regulator be the cause of my engine flooding
above 1700 rpm, and make it impossible to go above 70 km/h (45m/h)?
Hopefully some of you will have some good ideas for me when I get up in the
morning, I can really use some good news. Btw, the reference sensor here in
Holland costs 141 euro's including tax at the dealer, for who is interested.
