[V8] A dying battery? Where to get a replacement.

... I too am contemplating the purchase of a battery for #344, it lost a
cell a while back ...
#2 has an interstate battery installed by a PO ... so, they are available
from alternate sources. The Interstate has a connection for the vent,
albeit in a different location.
I called Anderson-Behel, a local Audi dealer ... they quoted me somewhere in
the $180 range.
As to determining the age of your current battery, there should be markings
on the label that indicate when it was installed.
Were I in your shoes I wouldn't necessarily assume it was the battery ... it
could be that the charging system is having an issue or that the starter is
going out ... you'd do well to test for these things before just going out
and buying a battery. If you need help with the tests to be done let me
know.
