interesting intel... I just reinstalled my ecu and vent duct last night after driving for a few days with the box just hanging there (wanted to make sure my poor running condition was entirely repaired). While doing so, the rest of my broken return spring assembly fell out (as a reminder that I should have had a new one ready while I was in there). But I didn't, so the ecu/vent/trim all went back in.
But I did take a close look at the arrangement up there, and man, I don't see how that could ever be a "quick fix"...
- You were able to reinstall without dropping the pedal assembly?
- Did you have to compress the new spring?
- And did you replace the white plastic piece(s) or just the spring?
I have a broken spring and though I didn't look too closely at mine, it looked like the white part(s) are supposed to be one...
