[V8] "Brake Pad Light" & "Cat Light"

... I disagree completely on the IC being at fault for the CAT light
flashing. The CAT light flashing is probably related to the relay that
flashes the light or the sensor in the cat. On #2 I've improved things to
the point where the light blinks very occasionally, but I know there's
nothing actually wrong with the cat itself. When I get a chance I'm just
going to pull the relay out of the panel and be done with it.
On the brake warning ... did you jumper both pad sensor connectors? Looking
at the wiring diagram (finally copied the soft copies onto my work
computer!) I can see that the right sensor should have one pin grounded.
What I would recommend is to go to the left side wear sensor and check to
see that one of the pins on the harness end shows low resistance to ground.
If not the problem is in the wiring between the left and right pad sensors
and ground. If you do see ground, make sure that the left sensor has low
resistance and then reconnect it to the harness. The next connection point
seems to be one of the Kostal connectors above the driver's footwell ...
check T14l/8 (should be a brown wire on the side connected to the wiring
harness, with a white/violet line going from there to the IC ... you should
find a low resistance to ground at that point ... if not the wiring to the
pad sensors needs to be reviewed ... if it is grounded on the wht/vio wire
then you are looking at a problem in the IC.
