... that would be an excellent thing to check ... especially if you did the
installation yourself and do not remember doing this deliberately.  Does the
chime ring if you have the radio on and open the driver's door when the car
is shut off?  If the chime does not ring it is likely that your antenna amp
is not getting power.  

If the FM reception is passable but the AM reception is poor you might want
to make sure that you have the cable for the rear antenna attached to your
deck.  The amp for the front antenna is set up for FM operation only ...
