[V8] Radio Theory ... and troubleshooting

... first thing ... there is no need to even consider splicing the antenna
leads together ... just find the one that works best for AM operation and
leave it ... I guess I should have prefaced that with "after you make sure
that the antenna amp is powered find the one ..." 

... the wiring diagram I have only shows the rear antenna, but the power for
the antenna is supplied from a white wire that is attached to pin 5 of the 8
pin connector (T8b) that would have plugged into the factory Blaupunkt deck.
You'll need to do a bit of archaeology to see what was done when your
aftermarket deck was installed.  Seems to me you could attach the white wire
to whatever switched source is supplying the power to the new deck, or if
the new deck has an "antenna" control output you can use that.  BTDT myself
on an aftermarket deck I installed in my Avant ...
