[V8] V8 electrical: turn signals and stereo

I considered that route - but I leave my key in the ignition when the car is in
the garage - so that stopped that plan.

The final solution for me was a solid state DC relay (because I had one) hooked
up essentially to the wire that powers the red lights in the window switches.
The only problems were that there was a glitch that I did not like. That was
solved with a RC network on the relay to hold it closed for a few seconds after
the power goes away.
And when I lock the doors with the key, the windows get energized briefly so my
radio turns on and power antenna goes up a little and back down again. Not good
for antenna life but oh well. I suspect this would only be a problem on '91 and
newer cars with the "all windows up with key lock" feature.

And - you can not simply wire shut the on/of switch. When you cut power to the
deck, you loose station presets, etc. The deck needs full time battery power so
I basically put a relay in series with the on/off switch, but downstream of
where the deck needs its battery power. This sounds hard, but really it was not
that big a deal. I used to repair car stereos in a previous life so I am not
afraid to tear into them.
