Ouch!  So that's how they make those flaming fart pics!  Or did you mean
bottle?

I think insulating the switch is a great idea.  I'd also suggest an
extremely well-ventilated area, because while gasoline really isn't that
easy to ignite with a spark, the fuel vapor is.  Rubber gloves would also be
a good idea.

Also, it's possible that one of the spark plugs is bad.  A few people have
gone through an awful lot of grief only to find a bad spark plug be the
culprit.  Buy a cheap replacement set of plugs (i.e. Champion). and see if
that makes a difference.
