[V8] V8 Trans leaks

Hello,I have a 90 V8 auto trans that is leaks trans fluid at the exposed shaft running from right front of the trans bellhousing diff area to right rear of the trans[not driveshaft].It's the seal at the back that leaks.Do I really have to pull the whole back section of the trans off to be able to install that seal?Is there any breakdowns of the trans anywhere so I can try and see what's inside that area? Also other problem,If I start car and back out of garage and shut off sometimes when I go to restart it's flooded and sometimes so bad that is has no compression and I mean as soon as you start cranking.Happened twice over a couple of years and both times I thought the T belt tore.Had to pull plugs and oil the cylinders just to get compression.This is the car my wife drives everyday and runs great except on those rare occasions.Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
