Sounds like som fun :(
1. does the car run any different?
2. does it smoke at all?
3. Is there any chance a mouse or something got under the air cleaner assy?
Mine ran crappy for quite a while (Bad ECU) and even then it got 15MPG
around town. It did smoke black when floored, though.
The only sensor I can think of doing this is the MAF. The air temp sensor
can make it go full rich, and back the timing off, but I can't imagine is
killing the gas milage that much. Same with the O2. Like you said, though
maybe bad wiring. First thing I'd check is the O2 wiring where it goes past
the exhaust.
