I can't say exactly what makes his special - but it is. All the usuall matching
numbers and such, but the motor was not just a 429. It has all the racing
goodies on it (from the factory) and can spin at 10K RPM. I had no idea those
big old V8s could do that. Since he has the stock ignition (dual point) though,
he does not have a very wide power band. He did put a Holly on in place of the
OEM Rochester Quadra-Pig - which is another stumper to me. I did not know
Rochester was a supplier to Ford. That did wonders for his power band as
measured on a dyno.
He shows the car so it has to stay very close to stock and I guess the Holly is
legal in that regard.
