Roger,
You're an optimist!
You appreciate the fine details of your car, the improvements, the
hidden and not so hidden qualities.
But with respect to a sales price it all means nothing if the potential
buyers don't want to pay for it!
Your car sounds great to me, but no matter what the qualities, $4000 is
what I would want to spend too!
As soon as I get to $8000 I start looking at another bracket of
vehicles.
I remember back in the UK, I had this beautiful NSU Ro80. I loved that
car. I loved the shape, It made me feel good just to look at it.
I was forced to sell it because I was fresh out of college and broke. A
greasy used car dealer came to my girlfriends house in Chislehurst Kent
and offered me £250. I was devastated but he was the only person who
called and I had no money and no place to keep it.
So off he drove in my beloved NSU. He couldn't even work the clutchless
shift!!
