[V8] The V8 cutting out at 1800 - it's back and running well.

The dealer finally figured out an oil leak had been causing an oil build up on the CAM position sensor (hall I think) causing it to short (or who knows what) and cut out! Anyway it's running great again(nothing $600 would not solve and a new set of valve cover gaskets also :-()! Let it snow now! By the way I have a set of plug wire I may sell direct or on ebay - they are used but were working fine. The replacement of new wires did nothing. The only bad news is my wife saw the A8L and wants one - that would hurt the pocket book! Makes the Navigator she wanted look cheap!

Thanks for all the help and input!
Greg

Subject: Re: Re: [V8] V8 cutting out at about 1800 rpm Hall sensor

Here is the latest on the v8 cutting out at 1800. They have been able
to get it to through a code (cam position) I think this may be the hall
sensor. I feel strongly it not the dist. cap rotors or wire as they have
all been replaced with new and we have the same results as the old. The
v8 does not loose power as some of the post indicate, - it cuts out hard
when above 1800. As for the fly wheel teeth - man I hope they are all
there! Thanks for all the thoughts - I'll let the list know when it's
running well again. I want it back before the snow - wahooooo!
