[V8] The V8 cutting out at 1800 - it's back and running well.

I would really like to know for absolute sure which sensor they feel
was being crudded up by oil.
I have suspected for many months now that my leaky driver's side
distributor is fouling one or both of the engine timing and speed
sensors which reside below it. My car cuts out very briefly but very
often under low-rpm/high-load conditions before it's fully warmed up.
I believe I discovered a relationship between these sensors and crud
back when I installed my 4-wire OXS. I am using a bolt on the back of
the engine for the ground connection and when I was hooking it up, I
sprayed some carb cleaner and a bunch of brake parts cleaner back
there to make sure the ground connection would be clean. Voila, the
cutting out was gone... for several weeks. Then it slowly returned.
I hit the area again with brake cleaner and it seemed to improve
again, but not for as long. I've been kind of ignoring it for a while
now planning to be prepared with dist seals and new engine sensors to
make it a one time job.
Anyway, if you could speak to the mechanic and pin him/her down on
exactly which sensor they believe was being fouled and report back, I
would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Ed

Anyway it's running great again(nothing $600 would not solve and a new set of valve cover gaskets also :-()! Let it snow now! By the way I have a set of plug wire I may sell direct or on ebay - they are used but were working fine. The replacement of new wires did nothing. The only bad news is my wife saw the A8L and wants one - that would hurt the pocket book! Makes the Navigator she wanted look cheap!
