[V8] Leather seat repair

Sad news... My driver's seat (sport travertine) has a split down the sewn seam on the seat bottom from the PO.
A note to you with seats in fair shape - don't ever put your knee in the seat bottom when reaching in the back, and invest in some nice leather conditioner products (cheaper in the long run).
Regards,
- Jeremy

Subject: RE: [V8] Leather seat repair
This from Carlson Audi:
Seat bottom cushion available - Audifans list price is $118.
Seat back cushion is available - $135
Seat bottom Leather is NLA but full retail price is: (GULP) $871
I did not bother to price the seat back leather but oddly it is still available.
So - at the moment, it looks like $300 for a top notch rebuild of my entire seat
by a local craftsman who happens to specialize in German Iron - err I mean
Leather is the most cost effective route - other than a nice "Indian Blanket"
that is.
(unless of course someone has a good seat they swapped out or something equally
unlikely)
