[V8] Manual tranny needs rebuild...kinda off topic

This is a bit of a steer in another direction...but
maybe another option other than rebuilding the ZF
5spd, is to locate a late '92-'95 S4/S6 tranny, and
bolt it up...moreover, this transmission can be
converted to 6spd using several items as indicated on
www.intendedacceleration.com.

Chris @ force5auto has a tranny I believe...just
getting the right clutch for it may be something to
research...just a thought...but has anybody considered
this?  It may come out a bit cheaper than rebuilding
anyways...and you won't have to worry about the tranny
"never being the same" after a rebuild....any
