Maybe I'm just in a cranky mood this AM, but this set off my BS detector.
$1,400 for brakes, without calipers, tells me someone got screwed, not that
this is a rare car.
Audi mechanics afraid to work on it? Nonsense - for $100 an hour or better,
they'll gleefully overcome their fears and work on it for endless hours -
the customer will pay, so why be afraid?
Basically a factory race car - BS meter pegged . . . BOING!!!!!
Trans rebuilt, still needs help - and just who did the rebuild and what did
it consist of? Some day I will tell you the story of a Chevvy V8 that got
"completely rebuilt" by painting it light blue out of an 89 cent spray can
. . . for only $3,500.
I think what is going on here is that this is just a late 91 Euro version -
GREY MARKET car - which nobody wants to touch - least of all the dealers,
who HATE grey market cars - and which has had some neglect in combination
with the "normal" teenage Audi V8 issues.
Best thing in the world for this guy would be to join this list - he NEEDS
the information here!
Best Regards,
Mike Arman
(Audi V8 . . . it isn't just a car, it's an ADVENTURE!)
