If you want a 6 speed, you are much better off buying a used 6 speed
such as from a 2.7L twin turbo (S4 / A6). Just buying the parts to
convert a 5 speed to a 6 speed can cost as much as buying a used 6 speed.
Then you have to pay labor for the installation, and you still have the
5 speed's weak 1st gear.
If cost is a major factor, I'd try to fit an 016 gearbox out of a 5kCSTQ.
They should be cheap in a junk yard if you can find one.
