[V8] Manual tranny needs rebuild...kinda off topic

Oh I know the 016 is a better option in this case...I
was just thinking that mounting an S6 5spd to get the
car running and then converting to 6spd at a later
date, may be another option other than rebuilding 016
5spd.
But as I learned from another lister, the early 01E's
have problems in 1st gear, and Keith T. pointed out
that S4/S6 5spd tranny has shorter input shaft, and
you gotta find an 01E flywheel...ahem...thats finding
a V8 01E flywheel....wayy outta my field and border of
sanity. So I personally would have focussed on custom
pilot adapting.
I suppose using the late 01E 6spd is the best option
in the long run...but is anybody willing to attempt
this project? I was actually looking into it myself,
but recent and sudden school tuition hikes halted the
project...and any other ideas I had running around in
my head for the V8.
BTW, about using the tranny off a 5kcstq...if anybody
does try and use this tranny...be sure to grab the
rear diff off the 5ktq too, and be prepared to lose
your Torsen from the V8....5ktq has 3.89 final drive.
