[V8] Steering rack, servotronic or no?

If you see a electrical connector on the rack near where the steering 
(pinion) shaft enters, you have servotronic. No wires no servotronic. 
You probably ought to just plan to have the rack removed, and ship it 
out for a rebuild. Rumor has it that this can be done inside a week - 
including shipping. This way you don't have to worry about getting the 
wrong part, and you know where this rack has been all its life. Getting 
a rebuilt unit is always a crap shoot. If the part was involved in a 
wreak or something you may be getting someone else's lemon.

Also, the torn boot is a bad sign, but do the diagnosis work. You may 
really have a bad hose or connection somewhere.
