That 4th wire is an external ground. You can get a 3-wire by asking
for Bosch 13913 which is for a Taurus or Mustang 5.0.
However, the external ground wire can be connected to a bolt on the
back of the engine. It is one of the two bolts that attach the cruise
control diaphram to the engine. It is in the rear of the engine on
the driver's side. You need to remove the upper and lower parts of
the air filter box to gain access. Just put a crimp-on end on the
wire and loosen the smaller of the two bolts that attach the cc
diaphram bracket to the engine. I used a wire end that was open so
that I did not have to completely remove the bolt since access is a
tad cozy back there.
