No, you dont have to lower the tranny.
Unlike a Turbo Type 44 you take a V8 rack out the top. Remove the right
dizzy, remove the right coil, free up the wiring harnesses from the firewall,
remove the heater hoses from the rear crossover pipe, remove the crossover pipe
(have new o-rings on hand)...etc etc etc.
It comes out by lifting the right end up and rotating till it clears, then
its out over the right fender.
Make sure you do this job when nobody's around who might be offended by
creative use of the English language.. in the Peoples Replublic of North Mexico
you might want to be careful with Spanish too. ;)
