Good point Ed.  With my last air leak, fuel mileage sucked, very rough
idle at the stoplight (I just pretended I had one of Scott's big cam
upgrades), and there was a definite whistle from the vacuum leak you
could hear with the hood open.

Worth a look and an inexpensive fix...

I had similar starting issues for a long time on mine, most noticeable
in cold weather and I found the vacuum hose for he climate control
system feed was split.

This hose is on the passenger side of the air intake down low right
next to the hose that goes up over the intake hole.  Nothing special
about it, could be a vacuum leak anywhere probably, but this one was
buried a bit and I only found it by accident one day.  Might be worth
a check since you'll be working back there with the lower air box out.
